1. Community Service Officer: Responsibilities: Plan, organize and execute at least one service-oriented (national or international) event during the semester, Attend all board meetings (every 3 weeks) in addition to general meetings
2. Historian: Responsibilities: Take photos of events and meetings, work with Rotaract’s webmaster to update website, regular updates to webmaster of Rotary Club of Boston, camera not required.
3. Webmaster for Rotaract website: Responsibilities: Make regular updates to the Rotaract website. Work closely with Historian and Secretary to get updates. This position will be supported by Justin Pendarvis. Computer required, webhosting software provided.

10-25-06 meeting minutes
We also talked about showing the Emmy-nominated movie about their work called “The Day My God Died” to the whole school so I booked L112 from 12-1:30 on Thursday, November 9. We’ll have a table set-up that afternoon to take cheesecake orders after the movie. Mr. Collins is buying pizza for everyone!

Tuesday 11/7 is skill-building workshop #2: Networking Like a Rock Star from 12:30-2pm in L303. If you need to sign up, email jirair@bu.edu, there are six seats left.
Wednesday 11/8 Rotaract and IHO are hosting two speakers from International Medical Corps and Project Hope from 12-1. Check it out if you still need a practicum idea or just want to learn about ways to create excitement and meaning in your life. Lunch will be served and I will let you all know as soon as we have a room reserved.
Thursday 11/16 is skill-building workshop #3: Program Evaluation in a Nutshell from 12:30 to 2pm in R110. RSVP to jirair@bu.edu

Rotaract @ BUSPH-
- Rotaract is an international program of Rotary International for young professionals who want to make a difference
- Founded in 1969, now 7088 clubs in 150 countries worldwide
- BUSPH Rotaract= 2002
- Relationship to: Rotary Club of Boston (our sponsor), Rotary International
- Rotary: 100 years, 160 countries, 1.2 million Rotarians 30,000 clubs
- “We are a Rotary family”
- Rotaract membership is not limited to BUSPH- all are welcome to join
Jirair – Introduced the Board and spoke about the focus of the Club – its 3 pillars:
- SERVICE- community and international events and fundraising
- EDUCATION- thru lectures and workshops for professional development

Ø Jamie: Blood Drive, in conjunction with the Red cross – end of October
Ø Jamie: Toiletry Drive, city-wide fundraiser to help with the victims of domestic violence
Ø Jessica: “Community Servings” – located at 1010 Mass Ave. A non-profit organization that serves hot meals to HIV population in Boston. As a group we could prep, cook and serve a meal to their customers. Shifts are 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 12-3 p.m., 4-8 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. Please email me with your interests and availability of when you would be able to provide some volunteer time. First Board Meeting: Monday, August 21, 2006
All board members were formally introduced and backgrounds were shared.
Our President, Jirair, gave a retrospective overview of the history of Rotaract.
Rotary is 100 years, 160 countries, 1.2 million Rotarians, 30,000 clubs.
Rotary Club of Boston is our sponsor.
Our club was founded in 2002.
Justin, returning Treasuer, gave an update/overview of past activities.
Jirair encouraged all board members to focus on the three pillars/ goals of the club - (SEF) Service, Education and Friendship.
Service: Club plans to organize one Community Service event per month.
Education: Club plans to organize a one-hour hour talk per month, workshops and a final surprise and impressive speaker during the first week of December.
Friendship: Club plans to organize one social event per month and one large-scale social event after finals.
Discussed ways of providing professional development for new members. – (workshops by BU faculty members, grant writing, ways to get connected).
Discussed our club website and the blog as well as the yahoo group.
FOLLOW-UP ITEM: Jirair to start a new yahoo group and send notice to old members.
Defined individual board member roles.
Need one more CSO or Community Service Officer.
FOLLOW-UP ITEM: Recruit another CSO.
Need a Web/graphics artist to design flyers, take pictures (camera provided) of events and update website.

Fundraising

Plans for the semester
General club meetings will meet from 5-6 p.m. every 3 weeks.

Board members will man a table at new student orientation on Thursday, August 31.
