Jirair – Introduced the Board and spoke about the focus of the Club – its 3 pillars:
- SERVICE- community and international events and fundraising
- EDUCATION- thru lectures and workshops for professional development
Professional workshops- Practicum skill-building

2. Nov. 3- Roz from IMC + Dr. Howe from Project Hope (NOT CONFIRMED YET)
3. Main event: tentatively set for December 5- collaborate w/ GHI, Harvard, SOM, BU ideas= Samantha Power, Nick Kristoff, Tom Friedman, Christianne Amanpor, Congressman Capuano – NOT YET CONFIRMED - FRIENDSHIP- socials events: Jazz Festival, Bars, Bowling, Cocktail party, ideas??

Your membership will entitle you to:
- Professional development; 3-4 quick and dirty 90 minute workshops by BUSPH faculty to teach skills for practicum

Ø General club meetings will be from 5-6pm (every 3 weeks)- alternating dates
Jessica, Rebecca, and Jamie spoke about Service Events:
Ø Jamie: Blood Drive, in conjunction with the Red cross – end of October
Ø Jamie: Toiletry Drive, city-wide fundraiser to help with the victims of domestic violence
Ø Jessica: “Community Servings” – located at 1010 Mass Ave. A non-profit organization that serves hot meals to HIV population in Boston. As a group we could prep, cook and serve a meal to their customers. Shifts are 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 12-3 p.m., 4-8 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. Please email me with your interests and availability of when you would be able to provide some volunteer time.
